wrap a soft measuring tape around your head about 1/2 inch above your eyebrows and ears. keep it level and snug, not tight! note the measurement (in inches) where the tape meets.
alternatively you can wrap a string around your head, mark where it meets, then hold it up to a measuring stick to determine your head circumference measurement.
